God's Intention for Marriage
The world does not understand the topic that wives should submit to their husbands. Also many Christian women do not understand it either. Before we understand the purpose of marriage, we need to understand submission.
Read Genesis 2:18-25.
1. Over and over God said during creation, "It is good." But in these verses, something is NOT good.
It is not good for man (male and female) to be alone. [Male and Female for God made both]
2. How does God remedy the problem? (v. 18b)
A comparable helper was made.
3. Right after He said He will make a helper suitable for man, He does something else! What does He do? (vv. 19-20)
He made the animals and brought them all before Adam. Adam was to give them all names.
4. Why do you think God does this?
To show that Adam had dominion over them and to also reveal that Adam was different and animals could not be a suitable helper for Adam.
God wanted Adam to confront his need. He realized that he was alone. That is how God deals with us. He will confront us of our need and then He will appear to show us that He is the answer to that need and He has the answer to that need
We, women are the only suitable helper for Adam. We have what men need. Not just our bodies, but the hidden person of the heart, with your incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit which is precious in God's sight.
The Word tells us plainly we are to meet each others earthly needs. If you are trying to live a holy, pure life, I exhort you to not define purity as not sleeping with your husband, read 1 Corinthians 7:2-5. Your marriage bed is honorable, even if you husband is an unbeliever, and you are to love him in this way as well.
